As we reported in November, Robosaurus went on auction yesterday. The mighty auto sold for $575,000. None of the news reports seem to mention who bought the 40-foot, 31-ton, flame-spewing, car-chomping mechanical dinosaur. But, Jalopnik.com says that the mysterious buyer promised "not to eat any of your car collection."
While not the highest priced item at this year’s Barrett-Jackson car show, the metallic monster fetched a larger sum than the “Miami Vice” movie boat and matching hummer ($175,000), James Brown’s 1992 Mercedes ($9,000), the “Beverly Hillbillies” truck ($125,000), and TV’s Monkeemoble ($360,000).
